NC State Board of Nursing grants full approval to Pfeiffer’s BSN program
The North Carolina State Board of Nursing (NCBON) has voted to grant full approval to Pfeiffer University’s bachelor of science in nursing program, finding the program to be in compliance with all NCBON standards and regulations.
Marriage and family therapy professor and student recognized at NCAMFT Conference
In March 2013, marriage and family therapy student Sarah Alwran received the Graduate Student Research Award at the North Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Conference. This is the first time a Pfeiffer student has been recognized in this category.
This award was established in 1997 by the NCAMFT Board of Directors to recognize excellence in research focused on enhancing the practice of marriage and family therapy or the understanding of families.
A Fresh Start
Amanda Josiah, who recently received her white lab coat to mark the start of her clinical training with Pfeiffer University’s bachelor of science in nursing program, is looking forward to the seemingly endless options that a career in nursing can bring.
After her former employer, an electrical contractor based in Washington State, eliminated her administrative assistant position during a downsizing, Amanda discovered Pfeiffer University after relocating to North Carolina to live near her family. After meeting with Program Director Dr. Dianne Daniels, Amanda’s decision to start a new career in nursing was made.
Working Toward a Clear Goal
After graduating from NC State University in 2011 with a double major in human biology and nutrition, Meagan Stout entered the healthcare field as a certified nurse assistant for Lake Norman Family Medicine.
This experience not only confirmed for her that she was in the right field but led to a decision to work toward eventually becoming a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner.
Department of Nursing Class of 2014 receives white coats in preparation for clinical training
On Fri., Oct. 5, members of the class of 2014 from Pfeiffer University’s department of nursing received their white coats in a ceremony marking their preparation for clinical training in the region’s hospitals and medical centers.
